Awkwafina

Awkwafina was initially an American musician and rapper making sly songs that addressed issues such as racial and sexuality with a humorous twist. In the years before she stepped into Hollywood the singer had the opportunity to make a few songs. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants was her very first music experience. She performed on the trumpet. Alongside classical music and jazz, the young Nora started to study hip-hop during her teens. In school, she concentrated on the field of journalism as well as women's studies. She studied Mandarin during a time in Beijing. Following graduation, she decided to concentrate on music. After gaining viral fame on the Internet, her track My Vag was a reaction to the song of Mickey Avalon's My Dick. It eventually was included on the album she released, Yellow Ranger. On the album, there were other viral hits including Queef (body-positive) and NYC Bitche$. The last track was linked directly to Awkwafina's NYC travel guide, published in 2015. The resume of her included the musician and author. She was now looking to expand her career into acting. Alongside early shows such as Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in films such as Neighbors to Storks. In 2018, her breakthrough roles included Dude Ocean's 8 as well as Crazy Rich Asians. In June, she released In Fina We Trust.
