Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor is an American producer stage and screen actress, best well-known for her films on the film Ray Undercover Brother and on the tv show The Mentalist. She holds a BA in African-American Studies and an MFA from the Tisch School of the Arts New York University. Aunjanue Lisa Ellis is an actor, writer and American actress active in theatre as well as television and film. She started acting on stage before appearing in mainstream, independent as well as television shows. She was known for appearing as Miranda Shaw (ABC's Quantico) and on BET's huge The Book of Negroes. Both series received major reviews, and she also won a lot of prizes. Her first professional performance was in the role of Ariel, on the stage in The Tempest. Her stage credits include the Broadway performance of Joe Turner's Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis. In terms of her career in movies, her best-known roles include Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express The Help. Her role as a character in ABC's drama police series High Incident earned her praises.
