Antonia's Lofaso invites guests to look into her soul through her cuisine. Her curiosity grew as she left the Long Island suburbs to explore the diverse culture of Los Angeles. She believes that cavatelli and carnitas can co-exist seamlessly on the same menu portrays a style that continues to evolve. All of her meals, she has a vision that is distinct and speaks to nostalgia for the historical. Motivated by her American-born Italian heritage, Lofaso opened Scopa Italian Roots in 2013 that was immediately a hit. Lofaso's take on old-school Italian has been called the one of Los Angeles' most compelling Italian eateries. Lofaso has been described by many as a local restaurant that consistently serves dishes that are authentic, tasty and inviting. Lofaso trained under the most renowned chefs and mastered their methods but she never afraid to go against her instincts. She soon rose to the ranks of Wolfgang Puck's Spago before moving into working closely with celebrities in various Los Angeles kitchens. Lofaso and Sal Aurora partnered in 2011 to create Black Market Liquor Bar Studio City. Lofaso's home was found in Black Market Liquor Bar and her business partnerships. Lofaso was able to finally experience the freedom of expression she had desired. Black Market has no one plan in sight and it is that way. The first course could be Dill chips and then Shishitos peppers. Then comes the Korean wing and finally meatballs. Antonia is the linchpin in this array. Lofaso's success has been measured by her capacity to stay honest with herself, while knowing her viewers. She's appeared on of a variety of television shows like Top Chef Chicago, Top Chef: All Stars as well as Cutthroat Kitchen Man vs. Child on The Food Network and ABC's Real O'neals. Her talents continue to be recognized in her role as a judge on the CNBC's Restaurant Startup. Lofaso released The Busy Mother's Cookbook 100 Easy and Delicious recipes in 2012, with Penguin. It also told the story of her challenges during her time in The French Culinary Institute. She also raised her daughter Xea also.
