Jana Kramer became famous on TV, in which she portrayed Alex in the One Tree Hill series' finale for the last three seasons. The show showcased her first release as a country artist, propelling her 2012 debut album to the Billboard 200 to the Top 20. Thirty One (2015), the follow-up album in 2015, was also among into the Top Ten. Her decade was rounded out by performances for Dancing with the Stars. Kramer continued to appear in films such as Heart of the Country 2013 or Country Crush 2016 which would appeal to her fans. Kramer has released her second studio album Thirty One together with Warner Music Nashville, in October 2015. It received a boost from her Top Five country song I Got the Boy and as a duet performed with Steven Tyler from Aerosmith. The album peaked at number 3 in the Billboard 200 country charts and number 10 in the Billboard 200. In September of 2016, her time on the 23rd Season of Dancing with the Stars lasted 2 months, and she finished with a 4th-place final. That same year she had a huge adult contemporary song with Straight No Chaser's Feels Like Christmas.
