Leona LaurenLeona Louise (born 3 April , 1986) is a British musician, actress active, activist, and actress. She was born and raised in London Borough of Islington and was a student at Croydon's BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology. Lewis gained national attention by winning the third series of The X Factor in 2006 which resulted in the PS1 million recording contract in partnership with Syco Music. The single she won in the contest, which was a cover Kelly Clarkson's song "A Moment Like This" which was downloaded by 50,000 people in just 30 minutes and was ranked at the top of the charts for 4 weeks. In February 2007 Lewis was signed to a contract for five albums with the United States with Clive Davis's record label, J Records. The success of Lewis continued after the release of her first album of her own, Spirit (2007), which was certified 10x platinum in the UK and became the fourth top-selling album in the 2000s , and also one of the albums that sold the highest in UK chart time. It is reported by the Official Charts Company claims that Spirit was the 21st-century's best-selling debut album by a female. "Bleeding Love" is the single that was released as the album's lead track from Spirit, remained at Number One on the charts in the UK for seven weeks. It also was the top-selling UK single. It also was the top-selling single in the US that year. Lewis won the Billboard Best New Artist Award the next year. Echo is her second studio album. Lewis also composed the hit song "I See You" in the movie Avatar. Lewis also debuted "Collide," a joint collaboration in collaboration with Swedish DJ Avicii. The year 2011 saw her also dropped Hurt which was the extended version of her debut EP. The third album she released, Glassheart (2012), marked a new creative direction for Lewis taking in dubstep as well as electronic music. In the course of her Glassheart Tour in 2013, she began the process of recording for her first Christmas album. Christmas, With Love was released in late 2013. Its lead single One More Sleep peaked at number 3 across the UK. In the wake of this chart, Lewis was the very first British single female in the top 5 with eight singles. This was more than Olivia Newton-John's record set by seven.
